God's Timing

Do you ever feel as if you're on the wrong road or that your life has taken an unexpected turn or unwanted detour? Sometimes, our road to understanding and following God's will and plan for our lives is a winding, rocky road with twists, turns, bumps, warning lights, and potholes. Never fear! God often allows these "detours" on our journey or permits us to experience certain situations as a way to shape and season us—getting us ready to really follow His will and accomplish His work in our lives. Even when we do hear His voice in our lives and discern the message, we are often like belligerent toddlers—wanting OUR will, OUR way, in OUR time. We dig in, not listening, and giving our Father a repeated, whiny "NO!" Lucky for us, being the loving parent He is, God is always there—waiting, working to get and keep our attention, repeating His message, gently guiding us back on the right road to Him. Remember, even if we wander off, we are NEVER too far from His protective reach and loving sight. As the prophet Isaiah reminds us (30:21): "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.'" This passage is a beautiful reminder that God is always with us, guiding us back to the right path, no matter how far we may stray. He speaks to us in various ways, always ready to lead us with love and patience. So, even in times of confusion or when facing unexpected detours, trust that God is there, directing your steps and ensuring you find your way back to Him.
